Berge Tumaian Named Professional Lawyer of the Year

November 11, 2011 – Berge Tumaian has been named recipient of the 2011 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award by the Burlington County Bar Association and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law.

The Professional Lawyer of the Year Awards are given annually to lawyers from across New Jersey who, by virtue of their conduct, competence and demeanor, set a positive example for others in the profession. Recipients of this award are respected by their colleagues not only for their legal experience and capability, but also for their character and exemplary professional behavior. Mr. Tumaian was honored with this award at a luncheon hosted by the Commission on Professionalism on October 4, 2011.

Mr. Tumaian is a Master in the Thomas S. Forkin Family Law Inn of Court and served on its Executive Committee from 2005 to 2010 and 2012 to 2014. He is also a Matrimonial Early Settlement Panelist in the Superior Court of New Jersey for Burlington County, and an active member of the Matrimonial sections for the Camden County and Burlington County Bar Associations. Mr. Tumaian is the co-chair of the Burlington County Family Part Bench/Bar Committee and co-chairs the Pro Bono Bench/Bar Committee.  For 10 years, several days a month he has served as a volunteer Mediator for the Superior Court system in municipalities throughout Burlington County. His principal areas of concentration are Family and Matrimonial Law, and he has appeared on the “Legally Speaking” program to discuss those topics. Mr. Tumaian also currently serves as a trustee for the Burlington County Bar Association and Foundation, and is active in the Foundation’s charitable works.  He served as President of the Burlington County Bar Foundation from 2014 to 2015.

Mr. Tumaian is admitted to practice in all New Jersey State and Federal courts, the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Supreme Court of the United States. He graduated from Widener University School of Law and was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 2002.
